This year, during Lent, we will meet the people who met Jesus. We will learn from their joys and their struggles, from what they discovered and from what they totally missed. In the midst of that we will open our own hearts and minds to the transformative encounters that our Lord yearns to have with each of us here and now.
It all begins in worship on Ash Wednesday, March 1, at 12 noon in the chapel and 7 pm in Westminster Hall.
In addition to the regular Saturday evening and Sunday morning services during Lent, we’ll hold special services on:
- Maundy Thursday, 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary (4/13)
- Good Friday, 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary (4/14)
- Easter Sunday (4/16) services will be at 9 and 10:30* am, both in the sanctuary. (*Note special time)
Music & Meditation
Don’t miss our Wednesday Music & Meditation Series. These short, noon-time services of music, readings & prayer offer an interlude of peace during the week. Stay after the service for a simple lunch.
- March 8 – Music of the 18th Century
- March 15 – Music of the 19th Century
- March 22 – Music of the 20th Century
We look forward to seeing you there, and encourage you to bring a friend or neighbor to join you in the experience!
Lent is the 40-day season of the Christian year where Christians focus on simple living, prayer, and fasting, in order to grow closer to God. It is a season of taking stock of one’s life in general and one’s spiritual life in particular, and to seek repentance, renewal, and rebirth. In some traditions it is when the catechism process happens for those preparing to join the church or be baptized. It begins on Ash Wednesday and culminates on Easter Sunday.
