The primary goal of this Committee is to create and support education programs that nurture the spiritual development of our adult members. We aim to encourage spiritual development by offering programs that will enhance Biblical literacy, support prayer, expand denominational understanding and build community. The Committee also uses, strengthens and expands the collection of the Church Library to further encourage private or small group reflection learning.
This Committee seeks to nurture the Christian education and spiritual development of children from infancy through the fifth grade, to nurture the spiritual development of families with children and to encourage congregational participation in activities that support our children and their families.
The role of this Committee is to prayerfully discern who God may be calling to serve in ministry as Elders, Deacons, Trustees, and members of both the Financial Review Committee and Nominating Committee.
The goal of this Council is to provide an atmosphere in which church members and others have the opportunity to develop friendships, rapport and awareness for one another by planning, hosting and supporting church-wide activities. In addition, we are piloting some new initiatives intended to increase participation and interaction through smaller group activities. We are the “party people” and SO much more!
The role of this Committee is to receive gifts and memorial donations on behalf of the church. We work with donors to determine a purpose for their use that is meaningful to both the church and the giver
The role of this council is to guide the congregation toward responsible Christian stewardship of money and time and talents. The Council seeks to develop effective ways to encourage faithful giving.
The primary objective of this Council is to promote congregational growth and active involvement within the life of the church. We welcome visitors personally and use follow-up calls to invite them to join us for worship and other church-sponsored activities including fellowship, service and educational events. The Council takes a lead role in New Member classes and periodically reviews the church rolls. We also advertise our worship services and other church-related activities via newspaper and website publicity.
Responsibilities include interpretation of mission programs to the congregation, coordination of special offerings, overseeing the mission programs (specifically the Millennium Promise, World Vision and our efforts in Malawi, Africa), and making recommendations regarding the expenditure of mission dollars.
The Council’s primary responsibility is to develop and implement appropriate personnel policies, liaison with the professional staff and report on these activities to the Session and congregation.
Assists the Session in prayerfully and strategically making long-range plans for the future.
The Worship and Music Council is responsible for all worship and music programs of the church, and for providing support to the pastoral and music ministry staff members. Specifically, Worship and Music ensures the smooth operation of the worship and music programs, in part, through the ministry of the Sanctuary Guild, which maintains the equipment, furnishings and supplies used for worship. We also consider and propose enhancements and changes to the order of worship, including new worship approaches and special services. We provide ushers for services; prepare and clean up after communion; coordinate flowers for the sanctuary; maintain the sound system, provide recordings of worship services; and schedule communion servers and lay worship participation.
This committee’s goal is to provide support, leadership and programs that will encourage active church involvement and nurture the spiritual development of our youth and young adults. We offer and emphasize Christian service through our annual Workcamp trip, collections for the food bank and Youth Service Day. The Confirmation program, fellowship programs, social outings and Bible studies we offer allow our youth to explore their faith and deepen their relationship with God within the guidance and nurturance of their church family.
