Did you know that BRPC awards up to nine educational scholarships each year?  This year’s awards are:

There are a number of scholarships administrated under the session’s Youth and Young Adult Committee.  These scholarships are awarded to college juniors or above, generally majoring in a “helping profession.” Several are reserved for theology, music, or education students.

Additionally, the Mission Council administrates the Jane H. and Robert M. Verburg Scholarship Program. It was established in 1988 to assist worthy and financially needy students from inner city schools to pursue study at the college level.

Youth & Young Adult Scholarships:

Becker-Croot Scholarship (Est. 1981)
This scholarship was established on the occasion of Edward J. and Eleonore Becker Croot’s 50th wedding anniversary. It is open to all residents of the Somerset Hills, and to members of The Presbyterian Church, Basking Ridge, regardless of where they live. The family designates a representative to sit with the Committee when applications are reviewed.

Jan Harrell Faulkner Scholarship (Est. 1971)
This scholarship was established by Jan’s parents as a memorial to him. It is open to all residents of the Somerset Hills, and to members of The Presbyterian Church, Basking Ridge, regardless of where they live.

John D. and Patricia R Lundquist Scholarship (Est. 1990)
This scholarship was established by the Lundquist family to support students from single parent families in the Somerset Hills who are studying for medical or teaching professions. Preference will be given to members of The Presbyterian Church, Basking Ridge.

Margaret Moran Scholarship and Mission Fund
This scholarship was established by friends of Margaret to support students enrolled in seminary or individuals undertaking full-time Christian service. It is open to members/former members of The Presbyterian Church, Basking Ridge, regardless of where they live.

Oak Tree Scholarship (Est. 1987)
This scholarship was established by the Church. It is open to all residents of the Somerset Hills, and to members of The Presbyterian Church, Basking Ridge, regardless of where they live. Preference will be given to members of The Presbyterian Church, Basking Ridge.

Exie & Alan Sutton Scholarship (Est. 1988)
This scholarship was established by the Sutton family to support students studying Music or Christian Education. It is open to all residents of the Somerset Hills, and to members of The Presbyterian Church, Basking Ridge, regardless of where they live.

General Robert Wood Johnson Scholarship (Est. 1964)
This scholarship is awarded to students in seminary for the purchase of books and educational materials. This scholarship is open to all residents of the Somerset Hills, and to members of The Presbyterian Church, Basking Ridge, regardless of where they live. Preference will be given to members of The Presbyterian Church, Basking Ridge.

William Harte Felmeth Theological Scholarship (Est. 1984)
This scholarship was established for the purpose of encouraging and supporting the theological education of members of the congregation of The Presbyterian Church, Basking Ridge. Each applicant must be either a candidate for ordination to the Presbyterian ministry or a candidate to become a commissioned Christian educator, accepted by, or studying at, an approved seminary; and must be under the care of the Session of The Presbyterian Church, Basking Ridge.
