Rabbi Debra Smith will discuss four major denominations of Judaism

(Orthodox, Conservative, Reconstructionist, and Reform) in upcoming Sunday morning classes at 9:00 a.m. in the Church House Parlor. She will describe their similarities and differences and how each developed. She will also articulate their defining hallmarks and the impact each has had on Judaism as a whole.

Rabbi Smith (“Reb Deb”) is the founder and spiritual leader of Congregation Or Ha Lev in Succasunna. She is also a clinical social worker and multicultural family therapist. The focus of Reb Deb’s work is Deep Ecumenism and multi-faith dialogue. She currently serves as co-chair of the NJ Muslim-Jewish Solidarity Committee and is co-chair of the Morris County NJ chapter of the Sisterhood of Salaam-Shalom. In addition to serving as Rabbi of Congregation Or Ha Lev, Reb Deb is the Rabbi in Residence at the Drew University Theological Seminary in Madison, NJ. She has been a frequent and well respected leader of our Sunday morning classes. All are welcome.
