Date(s) - 04/02/2017
11:15 am - 1:00 pm
Plan to join us in Westminster Hall as we welcome Robin Jackson, the Development Director of the Good News Home for Women who will share with us about the work and mission of the organization.
We will also assemble hygiene kits for women in the program and need your help in collecting: Toothpaste; Toothbrushes; Shampoo; Conditioner; Lotion; Soap; Sanitary Items. Collection boxes are in the Narthex, Westminster Hall and the Church Office.
The mission of the Good News Home is to provide a comprehensive long and short-term residential substance abuse treatment program that offers a professional, non-denominational, Christian approach, focusing on healing the total woman utilizing Christian 12-steps, addiction counseling, life skills and spiritual counseling to overcome drug addiction, with integrated treatment as appropriate for clients who have been diagnosed with co-occurring mental disorders.
Underlying our mission is the basic philosophy that faith in God can do for us that we cannot do for ourselves.
The purpose of our program is to rehabilitate women who have life-destroying problems associated with substance abuse. The Good News Home endeavors to help its clients become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well and spiritually alive.
