Our theme for this year’s stewardship campaign is “Make a Joyful Noise”
By the way we live, love, and serve, by the way we continue the ministry of Christ, that’s exactly what God calls us to do—make a joyful noise! God calls us to make a noise in our community and world that is bold and impactful and filled with joy!
God is present and at work in our beloved church in exciting ways! We give thanks for the impending arrival of our new Director of Ministry to Youth, Young Adults, and their Families, Toby Montgomery. We give thanks for the growing number of families returning to in person worship, as well as for our continued commitment to our online ministry. For the children who gather each week in Sunday School, the high school students in our Confirmation Class, our wide range of adult small groups, our fantastic choirs, our deep and unwavering commitment to caring for our neighbors in need, the spirit of hospitality and welcome we extend to all who seek a church home, and for the ties of fellowship and faith that bind us together as one, we give joyful thanks to almighty God.
In this year when we are celebrating the vital role that children and youth have in the Kingdom of God and in our church (“Let the children come unto me,” Matthew 19:14), we will also be sharing resources with families with children who are high school age and younger, inviting you to talk with your children about your faith in God and what giving means to you. We will invite the children and youth to participate in making a commitment or offering an expression of gratitude to God on Consecration Sunday using the special card included in families’ packets. You can also view/download a pdf of that card.
Our church was founded 305 years ago by the grace and goodness of God, and through the faith, commitment, and generosity of its members. Each generation since then has fulfilled its sacred responsibility as faithful stewards, allowing BRPC to continue our life and ministry and ensure that the love of God might be proclaimed and experienced by future generations.
And so we invite you to give boldly and generously this year, to make a joyful noise unto the Lord, that together we might strengthen and continue the vital ministry of our church. We invite you to generously share the gifts God has given you, the gifts of time, talent and treasure, to support the ministry of Christ at BRPC in 2023 and as an expression of thanksgiving to God.

Pledging support for the year ahead allows us to create a sound budget to support our ministries. Broadly speaking, the church’s financial needs include these areas:

Making an annual pledge to support the ministry of our church allows us to plan and prepare for the year ahead more responsibly. It gives the elders a more accurate idea of the financial resources that we will have to pay staff, support mission partners, and fund programs. We also believe it is a valuable spiritual discipline and expression of commitment for the one making the pledge.
Yes. Establishing a planned gift provides a way for your support and legacy to continue through our church’s ministry when you are no longer living. The formation of the Samuel Brown Society was inspired by the generous and forward-thinking gesture of Samuel Brown, one of our earliest church members. Please click here to find out more about the Samuel Brown Society and how you might make provisions to give a gift to BRPC though your will, life insurance, or other options.
Dear Friends,
This year’s stewardship theme at Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church is “Make a Joyful Noise,” from Psalm 100. By the way we live, love, and serve, by the way we continue the ministry of Christ, that’s exactly what God calls us to do — make a joyful noise! God calls us to make a noise in our community and world that is bold and impactful and filled with joy!
BRPC lives this out in incalculable ways each year. Joyous waves of faith and energy are heard and felt at BRPC — through our ministries of worship, music, Bible study and fellowship that we participate in together; through the nurturing our pastoral care and children and youth and family ministries provide; through our mission partnerships and community outreach; and by our prudent and intentional operation of our historic church buildings and campus. . .we make a joyful noise unto the Lord, bring God glory, and further the work of Christ.

We invite you to generously share the gifts God has given you, the gifts of time, talent and treasure, to support the ministry of Christ at BRPC in 2023 and as an expression of thanksgiving to God. In addition to making a financial commitment in the form of a pledge to support our ministry, we invite you to also complete the enclosed Time & Talent Opportunities list that you might make a joyful noise with your time and energy and interests, as well as with your generous financial giving.
Our three-week stewardship season begins on Sunday, November 6, All Saints’ Day, and culminates on Sunday, November 20, Consecration Sunday. We encourage you to take some unrushed time to pray about what God is calling you to do, to consider how God is calling you to share from all that God has entrusted to you.

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth.
Worship the LORD with gladness; come into his presence with singing.
Know that the LORD is God.
It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, bless his name.
For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.— Psalm 100
A Stewardship Prayer
Loving God, I come to you in thanksgiving, knowing that all I am and all that I have is a gift from you. In faith and love, help me to do your will. I am listening, Lord.
Please speak your words into the depth of my soul, that I may hear you clearly. I offer to you this day all the elements of my life, whether it be at home, at work, or at school—to be patient, to be merciful, to be generous, to be holy. Give me the wisdom and insight to understand your will for me and the commitment to fulfill my good intentions.
I offer my gifts of time, talent and possessions to you as a statement of faith, to reflect my love for you and my neighbor. Help me to reach out to others as you, O God, in Christ have reached out to me.
AMEN.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.— Psalm 62: 6
