This year’s stewardship theme embodies our message of welcome and hospitality, as we come together as a church family around the many tables in our community. It is around tables where connections and relationships are often built and nourished. Tables serve as conduits for hospitality, fellowship, food and drink, where we enjoy meals and conversation with family and friends, all while growing in relationship with each other.

When he was at table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him.— Luke 24:30-31

We invite you to come to the table and generously share the gifts God has given you as an expression of thanksgiving to God for his abundant blessings. Your gifts of time, talent and treasure are vital to support BRPCs’ ministry through 2024 and beyond, and allow us to expand the invitation to others – committing to engage those who have no church family or have not yet returned to church post pandemic. We invite all those who hunger for God and community to come to the table!

We are profoundly grateful for your generosity, your trust in God, and for the joy of gathering together at the table to be fed and nourished. In gratitude, we can then go forth from that table into the world to love and to serve.

How does my Pledge support the Church?

Pledging support for the year ahead allows us to create a sound budget to support our ministries. Broadly speaking, the church’s financial needs include these areas:

This is the smallest of the four components. It includes support of programs critical to our spiritual life including our children, family, adult education, music and worship ministries.
Mission remains a central tenant at BRPC. We are called to serve those in need and we rejoice in opportunities to do so locally and around the world.
This is our largest expense. We are blessed with a staff of dedicated, faithful and talented women and men bringing God’s nurturing love to us all on our faith journey.
We are stewards of a fantastic, historic campus. Regular maintenance is required every year, and utilities, insurance, and other expenses continue to rise.
If I give regularly anyway, do I need to Pledge?

Making an annual pledge to support the ministry of our church allows us to plan and prepare for the year ahead more responsibly. It gives the elders a more accurate idea of the financial resources that we will have to pay staff, support mission partners, and fund programs. We also believe it is a valuable spiritual discipline and expression of commitment for the one making the pledge.

Is Planned Giving different from Stewardship Pledge?

Yes. Establishing a planned gift provides a way for your support and legacy to continue through our church’s ministry when you are no longer living. The formation of the Samuel Brown Society was inspired by the generous and forward-thinking gesture of Samuel Brown, one of our earliest church members. Please click here to find out more about the Samuel Brown Society and how you might make provisions to give a gift to BRPC though your will, life insurance, or other options.

Letter from Stewardship Council

Dear Friends,

Come to the Table!

It is around the tables in our lives where we grow in faith, welcome the stranger, and have encounters with the presence of God. Each generation since the founding of our church over 300 years ago is invited by God to gather at the table together to be fed and nourished, and to then go forth from the table, that the love of God might be proclaimed and shared.

Our precious communion table, crafted from the mighty oak tree under which our church was founded, is prominent and central to our worship space where we break bread in remembrance of God’s great love and the sacrifice Jesus made for us. It is around this table where our spiritual needs are answered, we embrace Jesus as Savior, and commit to our faith again and again.

“When he was at table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him.” – Luke 24: 3-31

This year, we have even more opportunities to come to the table! Grateful for the generosity of our congregation and God’s blessings, we have renovated the Westminster Hall kitchen inviting more occasions to enjoy fellowship and hospitality and enrich our connections with each other.

Our local mission focus includes providing food to the tables of those in need, as we lift them up and embody God’s love for them. In establishing a new home for God’s Co-Op Pantry on our church campus, our love for neighbor will be lived out as we share food and provide abundance for many more tables in the community.

Around tables we educate our children, equipping them for mission to serve those in need. Around tables our spiritual hunger is fed through Bible study, small group discussions, Sunday School and Bibles and Bagels.

We invite you to come to the table and generously share the gifts God has given you as an expression of thanksgiving to God for his abundant blessings. Your gifts of time, talent and treasure are vital to support BRPC’s ministry through 2024 and beyond, and allow us to expand the invitation to others – committing to engage those who have no church family or have not yet returned to church post pandemic. We invite all those who hunger for God and community to come to the table!

The three week stewardship season begins on Sunday, November 5, All Saints’ Day, and culminates on Consecration Sunday, November 19. We encourage you to pray about what God is calling you to do and consider how God is calling you to share at the table.

We invite you to be present on Consecration Sunday at 10 a.m. when we offer our commitment and our very lives unto God. Your financial pledge can be made in four ways:

  • In worship on Consecration Sunday, November 19 at 10 a.m.
  • Online below
  • With a confidential email to pledge@brpc.org, or
  • By mail to the church office

We are profoundly grateful for your generosity, your trust in God, and for the joy of gathering together at the table to be fed and nourished. In gratitude, we can then go forth from that table into the world to love and to serve.

With faith and gratitude,
