How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’— Isaiah 52:7
Oh how we long for
beautiful feet.
A word of good news
amidst the never ending bad.
A proclamation of peace,
in the face of division and fear.
A shout of joy
louder than the din of complaint.
A song of salvation,
rising above the lament of doom.
Oh how we long,
for beautiful feet,
to walk with us on our way.
To lead us from fear to hope,
from hatred to love,
from separation to acceptance,
from death to life.
Oh how we long
for beautiful feet,
to remind us of your power,
your reign,
your salvation,
in our lives
and in our world.
And oh how you long Lord,
for our beautiful feet,
to walk in the mountains
and the valleys,
on the highways
and the sidewalks
of our world.
How you long Lord,
for our beautiful feet,
to bear the truth,
the good news
of your reign,
in our hearts
in our minds,
in our lives.
May our feet indeed be beautiful
and our message be heard.
