IMG_1657With great joy, the Session has unanimously approved hiring Andy Holvik to serve as the Interim Director of Ministries to Youth & Young Adults. His first day with BRPC was Wednesday, September 9.

Andy, with dual US and Norwegian citizenship and fluent in both lan-guages, is spending at least until August of 2016 in the US while his wife, Natassja, engages in her study abroad education at Montclair State University. A multi-talented and experienced youth minister Andy has a diploma from the Ansgar Bible College and is pursuing master’s work at the Ansgar Theological College. His four years of Youth Ministry leadership experience has been uniquely combined with his accomplished musical talents. He wrote in his introductory letter to us: “Being an accomplished guitar player, as well as a decent singer, I also master piano and bass at a basic level and generally have a very good ear for music. I’ve played in many bands, among them the band for the Ansgar Gospel Choir and recently performed with this group and the New Orleans-based Arc Singers at Kilden, an internationally acclaimed concert and opera house in Kristian-sand, Norway.” With so many ways to worship, explore, and grow in one’s faith, we are thrilled to bring his talents, experience as a youth leader and his Christian faith to the youth of our congregation.

Many thanks to our YYA Search Committee for conducting such a spirited and efficient search and interview process after forming in early August. They are: Theresa Creedon (chair), Gabby Obregon, Carl Barta, Claire Pratt, Anne Pinto, John Pinto, Jessica Creedon, Gary Ingram and Dennis Jones. Well done, one and all!

Andy is working 30 hours a week, and has already jumped in with both feet.

Please join us in welcoming Andy and his wife Natassja to our church family!
