How majestic is your name in all the earth.— Psalm 8:1
Your majesty and glory,
we see O Lord,
in the setting of the sun
and the dawn of each new day.
In the shadow of the mountain peaks
and the depths of canyon hollows.
Your handiwork displayed
in the canopy of stars,
piercing the darkest night,
and the newborn cry,
kindling hope in human heart.
Lord, help us see
Your majesty and glory
in the tender touch of love,
and the nameless face of strangers.
In the headlines,
and on the sidelines.
In the deep divisions with our enemies,
and in the mundane moments of everyday life.
Lord, help is see
Your majesty and glory
in waiting rooms and board rooms
in classrooms and laundry rooms.
In the storms of broken hearts
and the shattering of dreams.
In the absence and the darkness,
and the brightness of the sun.
Help us see Lord,
Your majesty and glory,
Your fingerprints on our life.
“How majestic is your name in all the earth.”
