As we move closer to the Advent Season, we have a number of ways to support ministries and those in need through alternate gift purchases and other means. Here’s a list of ways to support others:

E-port Thanksgiving Celebrations

This year we are collecting food for Elizabethport Center for their Thanksgiving meal for sen-iors and families in their area. The meal will again be cooked by IHOP in Elizabeth but more food is needed. If you would like to donate a turkey/ham or cake/pie please contact Tom Eicher at eicherfam@optonline.net. The meal will be served on Monday, November 19th at 3 and 5 p.m. and a few volunteers are needed. Please talk to Tom if you would like to help.

Bead For Life Gifts

Please come to Coffee Hour beginning November 25 to view and purchase jewelry made of recycled paper by Ugandan women. A BeadforLife purchase helps poor women increase their incomes and provides training programs to open small businesses and leave poverty behind for good. This jewelry is a perfect Christmas gift for friends and family! Checks and cash are happily accepted.

Collection of Gently-Used and New Women’s Clothing

We have an opportunity to help women transitioning from prison to the community at the Bo Robinson Transitional Center in Trenton. Some women do not have family support and need clothing to begin their new life. The women need fall and winter gently-used or new clothing of all sizes— especially jeans, slacks, tops, sweaters, and sweat suits (pants and top). New bras and underwear, any sizes, are also very much needed. Please leave donations in the box in Westminster Hall, or in the coat rack near the parlor in the church house, by December 2. Thank you from Mission Council!
